Adrift has not launched. This page covers the only thing running today, which is this website and its waitlist. A full policy covering the app will replace it before anybody can throw a bottle.

What we collect

If you join the waitlist, we store the email address you type in, when you sent it, which part of the page you sent it from, and a note of the wording you agreed to. That is the whole record.

We also count three things about the site itself: that a page was viewed, that the form was submitted, and that a signup succeeded. Each count stores an event name and a page path. It stores no address, no device information and no identifier, so these counts cannot be tied to you or joined into a profile.

Cookies

There are none. This site sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, which is why you have not been shown a consent banner.

What we do with it

We email you when there is something worth telling you about Adrift, and nothing else. We do not sell the list, share it with advertisers, or use it to profile anybody. There are no third-party trackers on this site.

Where it is kept

The waitlist is stored in a hosted Postgres database and the site is served by our hosting provider. To limit automated abuse of the form, we keep a short-lived count against a salted hash of the network address a submission arrived from. The hash rotates daily and the address itself is never written down.

How long

Until launch, or until you ask us to remove you. Whichever comes first.

Your choices

Ask us to show you what we hold or delete it and we will, at hello@tryadrift.com. Every email we send will also carry an unsubscribe link.

Still to come

The app will need to know where you are in order to work at all, and that raises questions this page does not answer yet. The rule we are designing to is that a precise position is used to decide whether you are at the water and is never published to anyone else. The detail will be written here, honestly, before the app ships.
